It's hot

We are enjoying some nice hot weather this weekend. Me being the horrible mother that I am said no to a big pool with a pump, but hello to the 15.99 plastic one. It's just smaller to clean, easier to move when the lawn needs to get mowed, etc. etc. I have believe it or not have gotten some color. All my family out there who were also blessed with extremely white skin know how exciting it is to get color, only if you are the only one who sees it. The girls are having fun in their little pool and I am having fun laying out with Eric and listening to him whine, is it time to turn over yet. Men they just can't take the heat. Well that is it for now. I am going to go outside and lay out again because it's too hot to stay inside and blog.

Nothing new and Exciting

I promised my cousin Jen that I would update my blog, but as I sit and think about what to write nothing new and exciting has happened. We are enjoying a nice warm and relaxing summer. It has been sunny since school got out and I am so excited. The girls play outside literally all day and they both have quite the tan going on. I have gotten some sun too, except in my case getting sun means bringing out the freckles but that's ok. My freckles have never ever bothered me and I actually like them. Taylin, however has different feelings about them and she does have some on her face. She let me know that the freckles look ok on me and that she hopes she doesn't get anymore. Hailey is the lucky one cause she skips the sunburns, freckles, and just tans. Last Saturday I took the girls strawberry picking and they weren't excited one bit. The fact that they may get a little dirty was not on top of their list. They let me know that was the worse day of their lives. I made some jam all day Saturday. Monday I woke up and thought since I was such a bad mother that I would take them to pick more strawberries. We got really nice red ones this time and yes we made more jam. Taylin picked about 10 berries dumped them in my bucket turned her bucket upside down and sat on it the rest of the time we were there. Hailey was quite the help and I reassured them that we were done until next year. So I spent Monday making more jam. There is something really yummy about homemade jam. My kids are doing really well at sleeping in until at least 8:30 every morning. So that's exciting. See Jen nothing exciting going on. But that's what summer is about right? Next month things should start to pick up as we have quite a bit of things planned.

Cardboard?

Hailey is at a birthday party which happens to be a sleepover, which means Taylin is VERY bored. She has been telling me that she is bored. She puts her arm around me and said mommy, will you play a cardboard game with me? I said you mean a board game and she says yes, a cardboard game. I said well sure. She said I will go get the cotton pickin' cherry game. Referring to Hi ho cherrio. Needless to say, she is setting up Checkers for us.

Movin' on up

Yesterday marked the end of another school year. It was sad to see it come to an end. We spent a lot of time in Hailey's class volunteering and came close to the kids. Hailey got her report card and takes after me for sure. She had mostly "exceeds district expectations" and the rest were "met districts expectation". She wants me to take her out for ice cream and I think I will. She is now a 3rd grader.

Taylin also will be moving up to Kindergarten in the fall. She also received an evaluation from her teacher and we were quite shocked at what we read. She is a leader amongst her peers, she follows directions. Wow I had to re-read and re-read it.

We found some press on nails while we were up in Everett a few weekends ago and I told them they had to wait til school was out. So this morning we put them on and they were so excited. Oh I forgot to tell you they were High School Musical, double the excitement. Even better news I will still be in my 20's when Taylin starts Kindergarten. Oh wait I will still be in my 20's when she starts first grade, only for a few days but hey it counts.

My cousin Jen stumped me, please help

3 men went on a business trip and to save on the expense of the trip the 3 decided to split the hotel fee and each pithed in $10.00. The clerk realized that he overcharged the men and the room was actually $25.00 and he sent the bell boy up to the men with $5.00. The bell boy was trying to figure out how to split 5 bucks evenly between 3 men. He gave each guy a dollar and kept 2 to himself. So technically they each paid 9 dollars for the room which make 27 and the bell boy kept 2 bucks which makes it $29.00. Where is the other dollar?

A little of this a little of that

I was completely shocked to see that Special Jen and Shannon updated their blogs today good job girls. Although I talk to you two often I don't really feel left out of your lives but it's nice to read about what's been going on in your life's. This week has been long, very long as we are counting down the days til school gets out. Yes, my girls are still in school until Wed. We are looking forward to Taylin's preschool graduation this week and are beyond excited that she made it through the year without hitting anyone, yelling at anyone, saying a cuss word that she picks up from certain people that she likes to repeat, or sitting in the time out chair. Good job little girl we are so proud. It took about all year for her to feel comfortable playing with a little boy in her class. You see he has allergies and she didn't want to play with him cause she didn't want to catch them.
Hailey, is Hailey you can't ask for a better child. She loves school, loves a structure, loves to choose the right, and is hormonal. She always has been my more sensitive child and just doesn't like when things aren't "fair". My brother Toby told me once that I was going to have all girls because of the hell that Shannon and I put our poor mother through. Boy was he right, I have 2 and Shannon has 2.
Eric, is still busy in the bread business. He also started up part time with the cement company. He is my money maker. I thought yesterday since he works so hard to provide for our family I would go and mow the backyard. If you remember a few posts back he HATES doing it. I mowed with my iPod and then pulled weeds. It was very relaxing and I am up to do it again. I did tell him however, that we need a new lawn mower. One with a bigger bag so I don't have to empty it so often. He also got a lecture cause I told him he needed to take care of "his" lawn mower better. The way I care for my vacuum cleaner. He didn't care, but you wait when we get a new one I will take care of it.
Then there is me. I make sure everyone is staying focused. I go to the gym everyday and also work out on my treadmill at home. I am still fat and haven't lost anything. Oh well, that's why my money maker is working so hard so I can have my surgery. Anyways, that's our life. Looking forward to summer.

Silence please

I know I posted today, but Taylin is a dork and I wanted to post something she did. I was doing my normal motherly chores and I left the room to get something or put something away, who knows. I came back in the room and Taylin is meditating. She also has the towel from the kitchen on top of her head. Why? I have no idea. She does weird things. The best part of this all is she was quiet for like 15 seconds, which is a record for her. She started to laugh when she heard me take her picture of her backside. You can see her little hands sitting upright on her knees.

Rain Rain Go Away

It won't stop raining, that's all I have to say. It's June 10th, it needs to go away. This last weekend the girls, my mom, and myself took a spur of the moment trip up to Everett to see my SIL Bonnie and nephew AJ. We left right as scheduled which was very impressive. Taylin decided about 45 minutes into the trip that she needed to puke. Shannon and I were talking the day prior to this saying how good Taylin is doing with getting car sick and it had actually been almost 2 years since she puked in the car. Yeah we jinxed it. Taylin decided to take a nap after we got her cleaned up and changed. She then woke up about 20 minute away from our stop and puked some more. We got to Bonnie's house threw her in the tub and then went out for the day. We went to lunch, shopping, watched movies, pigged out on lots of candy, and slept in. They have an amazing outlet mall up there that I absolutely love. They have a converse store where I got the girls both a new pair of shoes for $9.97 a piece. Hailey's are true hi top converse and Taylins are more of a tennis shoe. Hailey's are a size 3 which is a normal size for her. I knew the shoes Taylin had on were getting small, but I had no idea until the size 1 actually fit her. Yes, my children have big feet. Eric wears a 16 and I wear a 9 so they really have no hope. Hailey is 7 and a size 3 and Taylin is 5 with a size 1. Do you think they will be tall? Oh yeah. We left the next day after lunch and we made it home in a record 2 hours and 55 minutes. May I also say that we included a bathroom stop and we also had to slow down for a wreck. Not too bad if I do say so myself. Sorry no pictures, I need new batteries for my camera. All and all it was a fun trip and it was complete with Taylin puking in the car.

3 CURRENT OBSESSIONS/COLLECTIONS: 1. My current obsession right now is working out, I must do it once a day or I feel really bad about myself. 2. I am obsessed with Tide and Downy. I always have to have some and make sure I have back up so I don't run out. 3. I am obsessed with texting. I love it cause I can have numerous conversations at once and I don't have to talk to anyone on the phone.
3 RANDOM SURPRISING FACTS ABOUT YOURSELF: 1. I have the super ability to pick things up with my toes. In fact I would rather pick them up with my toes instead of bending over to pick them up. I can then take that item still in my toes and put it in its proper location. 2. I have to check that the stove and oven are off every night before I go to bed even if I know I didn't use them during the day. I also have to check the doors and make sure they are locked like 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 times. You get the picture. 3. I have my daily routine in the morning of getting ready for the day. I always always apply my deodorant 3 times in the morning before starting my day. Why? I have no idea I just do.

Ladies and Gentlemen

We were out and about tonight and Taylin opened my door to the truck and then opened her door. I was helping her into the truck and she said, "Mommy, I opened your door for you." I told her thank you as I was trying to get her in her seat and all. She was still standing up when I got in the truck and I told her to buckle up. She said in her sweet as can be voice, " Mommy, I opened your door for you, I was practicing my gentleman manners." She is so funny.
