Big feet are a must around here

In order to be a part of our family one of the criterias is you must have big feet. I personally loved it growing up cause that meant that my mom and my sisters couldn't wear my shoes. I wear a size 9 1/2. The girls and Eric have been in desperate need for new shoes. I don't remember the last time Eric got new shoes, cause well he can't walk into any store and find a size 16. You know what they say, the bigger the feet the bigger the sock! (I bet you thought I was going to say something else.) So today Eric took Hailey and they went to Nike outlet. Taylin got to stay home with me cause she is still sick. Eric scored (with shoes, I guess you can say with me too I mean I am pregnant). He had to squeeze into a 15, but they fit he says. Hailey who is 8 now wear a size 5, she is only 4 sizes behind me. Then there is Taylin who turned 6 just a few days ago and she is in a size 1. I would have gotten her a 1 1/2 but that's ok. So now we sit and count the days to see if our little boy will join the big feet club!

35 weeks

I have hit the 35 week mark, FINALLY. It has gone fast and slow at the same time, but it's really starting to feel like I will be pregnant forever. I didn't gain any weight in the last 2 weeks and that made me happy. That's probably cause of my thumb and the lack of being able to eat all my extra treats. Here is my fat picture:


I went to the dr last week for my thumb and nothing has changed except the swelling had gone down. It still looks nasty though. Eric said I need to stop being a whimp and just pull the nail off. Easy for him to say, I think the pain alone will put me into labor. We all can't wait for things to get back to normal around here. Everyone including myself can't wait for me to be mom again.

Taylin also turned 6 this week and didn't get to celebrate her birthday cause she has been sick all week. Poor little girl! Whenever we celebrate it I will make sure to do a post in her honor. Here is a random picture of her and Eric from yesterday.

It's a new day

It's a new day and my thumb still hurts. I only have 2 more doses of my antibiotics left, I am so happy cause they make me sick. The vicodin has been great, but not sure if it's helping the pain, either way I get good sleep. My dad is left handed and he has always said that this world was made by right handed people. This is so true my friends, I have yet to use a toilet that has the toilet paper on the left side of the toilet. It wouldn't be so bad but keep in mind that I have a 34 week belly to work with as well. Lets see what else, I have sat in 2 recliners that both have the handle on the right. You never realize how valuable your thumb is until you can't use it, here are some of my challenges: Putting in my contacts, wiping (keep in mind my prego belly), taking a shower (I can't open anything in there), shaving my left armpit, putting on deodorant (nobody puts it on the same as you do), putting on a bra (bet you never thought of that one), putting my hair in a ponytail (thanks Kristi for putting it up for me the other day so I could go to the dr), there are a lot more but those are the important ones. Well that's all for now. Time to take those medicines now.

How pretty

My thumb

I went and saw the ortho surgeon yesterday and the good news is I do not have to have surgery, PHEW. However, I didn't fracture it in 3 places, I fractured it a lot more than that. I got to see my x-rays and I have 3 main fractures but multiple fractures that branch off of those. So pretty much my thumb looks like a tree with many branches. I did however, manage to keep the bones aligned. So, I am in a "custom" made pretty purple splint on my thumb. I go back in a week for more xrays and if the bones shift I will get a cast but if they stayed I stay in the splint. The DR said it could take several months for the swelling to go away and I may not get all the feeling back in it. So that's a short recap. Hailey has been a wonderful helper, she has helped switch the laundry, put my hair in a ponytail, and just help with whatever I need. Taylin on the other hand, well she makes me want to take more vicodin!!

New car I hate your stinkin' guts

Long story short...... I slammed my thumb in the car door and fractured it in 3 places. It hurts, it hurts really bad. I see an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to get his opinion. Either way I will be in some kind of contraption for 6 weeks and the baby is due in 7 weeks. I like to cut things short. That's all for now!!!!

A new addition?

We could be adding a new addition to our family tomorrow. No, it's not the baby we still have a ways for that. Check back tomorrow night for the shock of your life, at least it's a shock for me( I have known about it for a few days and it's still a shock.)
