Ever have those days?

I have been in such a funk lately and I just don't know why. Being a stay at home mom can be very challenging. About 4 years I passed up on a good job to become a stay at home mom. I thought it would really benefit my childrens lives, but I just feel like everyday is a struggle. The constant bickering, the constant battles of who hit who first, the constant battles of always feeling alone. I know I am not alone, there are people all around me, but I don't feel like I connect with anyone. I think this is because I moved so many times when I was growing up. I made friends with people and before I knew it it was time to move again and I lost that connection. Then it just became useless to me and I just don't try because it sucks getting close to people and then having it ripped away from you. I am jealous of the bonds that people have with their inner circle. I have always been the one looking in on those circles from the outside. I just want to be a better mom, a better wife, and just be happy. I don't think it's too much to ask for!

200th post!

200th post and what a better way to celebrate than sending the kiddos off for their first day of school! Wahoo! To say I am excited is an understatement. It was a long summer and they were definitely ready to go back (or at least I was heehee). Hailey is now in 5th grade, how did this happen so fast? Taylin is now in 2nd and Nathan will be 17 months tomorrow!

Our weekend in Lincoln City

We go to Lincoln City, OR every year to do the girls back to school clothes shopping. I must say that the outlets aren't that impressive anymore compared to the ones in Woodburn, but nonetheless it has just been our tradition every year. We got an early start to our trip thanks to Eric's "help" in loading the car. About half way into our road trip I asked him if he had put B.O.B in the car. That is our amazing stroller that we use to push around Nathan, he quickly responded that he had forgot to put it back in. No big deal we would work around it. The outlets had one we could rent. You will also notice this post lacks pictures because awesome me forgot the camera. Yes, I did. I had a Scentsy event the prior day and well it was with all my Scentsy stuff. So we made it to our hotel. Eric was so helpful in getting all the bags out of the car, he even used one of those fancy cart things to haul in all the luggage. He took off all the luggage and gave it to their owner and when the cart thing was empty Taylin asked where her luggage was. To which I replied, I believe it is at home on your bed. On your bed a few hours away. So we got started right away on clothes shopping. Good thing I remembered her toothbrush. Other than that we had fun. Except Hailey has officially mastered the eye rolling when you suggest certain clothes and the pouting look when you deny her what she wanted. Such is life I suppose and I thought my children would never act that way, I mean I never did. (I sure my mom has her opinion). Anyways, just a few more days until school starts. YIPEE!

New Appliance

When I think of a new appliance I think of a new shiny front loader washer and dryer. The washer and dryer that I have had my eye on for years, but could never justify getting because funds were needed elsewhere. We did get a new appliance last week, one that won't be found anywhere in my house, but rather in Taylin's mouth. You see Taylin has a cross bite, 2 to be exact. She got a shiny appliance put in the roof of her mouth. She has a front cross bite so the appliance is helping to push out her jaw line and helping to align her teeth. This nice little device will be on until the end of September, depending on whether or not it did its job properly. I have a key so to speak and I have to turn this device every other day and it's not fun for neither Taylin nor I. Poor girl. Then as soon as it comes off she will have to have braces put on her top teeth to fix the cross bite in the back. This whole process "should" take about a year. Can I just say that by the time we are done paying for this process I could have easily had 2 sets of my washer and dryers. Sad news is the braces are only to fix the jaw line and she will also need braces again top and bottom when she gets older.

Clark County Fair '10

Yesterday, Eric had the day off so we went to the fair. Eric and I spent our first summer of our dating years there almost everyday. Eric even sold one of his baseball bats that year so we could go on "bracelet" day and ride all the rides we wanted. Of course I only remember that he sold it because he has told me the story every year that we have gone. It was so fun this year because the girls actually wanted to go on the grown up rides. And well they aren't short so they were able to go on all the rides they wanted to. I decided I would also get a bracelet so I could go on the rides with them. 2 things I learned from the rides. 1: Never sit next to Taylin because she screams REALLY loud. There was one ride that reached a certain speed and she just couldn't scream, it took it right out of her. 2: I am not as young as I once was which took a little longer to be able to walk straight after coming off the rides. The rides were fun, I can't deny that. As I was standing in line with the girls for a ride I was looking at all the people on it and the smiles they had. It was good to be able to relax and have some much needed fun time. Eric was so nice to watch Nathan while the girls and I went on the rides. Nathan obviously was too small for the rides and we refused to get him out of his stroller because then he would not get back in. It was just easier to tolerate the whining hour after hour as opposed to chasing him around. Eric also refuses to go on the rides because of the first summer we went. We went on the ring of fire and the poor guy couldn't get our cage closed because Eric was so tall. The guy got on top of it and was jumping to get the thing to shut. I do believe that was the last time Eric ever went on a ride. Poor guy. Now on to the pictures.
