Stop Growing Up Girls

This morning I realized that my girls are growing up really fast. Another school year is coming to an end and I don't like it. I remember being Hailey's age and thinking the school years go really slow but in reality it goes by super fast and before I know it she will be graduating high school. She got an outfit for Christmas that was just way too big, but she wanted to keep it and grow into it. She put in on today and to her excitement it fit. Her comment to me was, "Hey, Mommy do you think I look like a business woman?" She is all about looking her best and yes, she did look like a business woman, but more importantly she called me mommy, tear. She insisted on me taking her picture:


Today Taylin has a music program at school and she got herself ready she too wanted to dress her best. I talked her out of wearing her Easter dress to school and she settled for another outfit. She kind of brushed her hair so I said let's go brush your hair and put it up so I can see your pretty face while you sing. She let me brush it, but not put it up. She said, " Mommy, you will be able to see my face cause I am on the top shelf!" The top shelf she said referring to the top riser. I tried to get a picture of her and this is what she did


Then they do things that make me just want them to grow up really fast and stop fighting. After I took Taylin's picture Hailey said, "well Taylin, I can tell you aren't going to be famous like me when you grow up cause you don't like to get your picture taken." Hailey usually just keeps quiet, but then she followed up with, "hey Taylin, if I have a kid like you I will put it in an orphanage." They really do love each other and care about each other. Yesterday, we had quite the thunderstorm which they say was equal to a midwest storm. The girls were scared and they went and hid in the bathroom until it passed. They also took some barbies in there and some pudding. Cause we all know chocolate makes anything better. They also took some cheese and when the cheese was gone Taylin was sent to get more. Hailey however, came out with her and said, "I decided to come with Taylin cause she is little and I don't want her to get hit by lightening." See they do love each other and I am so proud to be their mommy!

Poor baby boy!

Nathan sure has a disadvantage of being the youngest and having 2 older sisters. It's mostly Taylin that likes to engage her brother in such girly activities. In his short little life he has already had a mini makeover courtesy of Taylin and she also gave him a lesson in making out with her baby doll as the girl. She also has a pink purse she likes to take out with us in public and it usually ends up in his car seat with him under his blankets. Then when we go to show him to somebody he has a pink purse on his arm. Well, last night the girls "made" him play barbies. He just laid there not willing to participate. Poor boy, I know he can't wait to run away or crawl away from his sisters!

What a week!

We are still in the process of moving and are really close to being done,but it's all those little things that nobody wants to do. It seems we picked our busiest week of May to move.

Last year Eric and I volunteered at the girls school every week and well this year we went twice. Sad, I know. At the end of the year the school does a volunteer tea and invites the volunteers who spend time at the school. I am not sure why we were invited, but we were and we were happy to go as Hailey's class was singing a few songs. We took Taylin and Nathan with us. Hailey's class was singing The Climb, it's in the Hannah Montana movie in case you are not familiar with it. So anyways, Hailey's teacher was introducing the song and said I know some of you guys have kids who like Hannah Montana... Taylin as loud as she could yelled out, "Hailey does!" Hailey was so embarrassed! Her face was red and she wanted to hide with nowhere to go and the look on her face was priceless. Leave it to Taylin to embarrass her sister in front of a library full of volunteers!

After the tea we rushed over to Hailey's track meet. This was Hailey's first year competing as you have to be in at least the 3rd grade to participate. She competed in the 100 meter and placed 3rd, she also competed in the standing long jump and the softball throw. She will find out in the next few days the results of those 2 events. Good job Hailey you did awesome.

The best part of my day is listening to the girls pray before they head out the door for school. They say the cutest things and sometimes I have to hold back my laughter. This morning was Eric's turn and he said something about knowledge and as soon as he was done Taylin said, "daddy just so you know, I don't go to school to get knowledge, I get that from the boys!"

Then Nathan and I headed out the door to his dr's appt. He was tongue tied and today was the day he got his tongue cut. It was a quick procedure literally taking all of 2 minutes with minimal blood. He was crying and the dr said he would come back in a few minutes to check on him then we could leave. So an hour had passed, I was thinking the dr got super busy with a patient, but I needed to leave as I had hurry across town to get the girls to the eye dr. I went to ask the receptionist if the dr was coming in soon cause I needed to leave. She paged the dr cause she couldn't find him and he was actually across the street at the hospital in emergency surgery, not what I wanted to hear. Seriously, why didn't anyone tell me. So I left hurrying across town to get the girls to their appt. on time, which I did and we were even early.

Last year at the girls eye exam Hailey had her eyes dilated and Taylin remembered that and she didn't want to go in case they had to do hers. We pull up and I told the girls to get out and Taylin just sat there. She said, "mommy, tell them I have the swine flu and I can't get out of the car!" She didn't say she was sick, she said she had the swine flu. This was my first important trip out with all 3 kids by myself and they all did such a good job. I was nervous with Nathan cause he had literally just had his tongue cut, but he did really well. He crapped his pants during their exams adding some entertainment. Hailey didn't have to have her eyes dilated this time, but Taylin did and she did such a good job. Hailey has had reading glasses for the last year and had to get a stronger prescription and Taylin got her very first pair of reading glasses as well. It looks like they inherited my bad eye sight. Making Out 101

This afternoon I was getting Nathan's stuff ready for his bath and well left him in the care of the girls. This is what I found when I came to get him. Taylin was giving him a lesson in making out. Poor guy

The hi-lights of my day

I have been under a lot of stress lately, but there were a few things today that really made me laugh. I love listening as the girls play by themselves. I like the things they make their toys say when they are playing all by their little lonesomes. I was listening to Taylin today and I went into her room and asked her if she wanted to be my friend. She looked at me with total disgust and said, "mommy, I can't be your friend cause I am your daughter." Wow that would be the response I would expect when she was like 13.

As all of you know I have had quite the journey with my thumb. It has now been 3 months and yes, it's still fractured. I received notice that Blue Cross wasn't covering my injury cause I slammed it in the car and therefore had to go through my auto insurance. Today I was talking to the claims adjuster and was explaining to him again what had happened. After I got done explaining it he had the nerve to ask me if there was damage done to the vehicle. I know Ben they are required to ask this, but what a stupid question. The tip of my thumb about fell off and he wants to know if there was damage to the vehicle?

Feeling down

I have just been feeling stuck in a rut lately. Overwhelmed, stressed, overworked, underpaid, tired, lazy, fat, blah. I have a lot going on.

Should I be worried?

Taylin wants to sale her brother cause he slobbers!

Today she also asked me if it would be mean if we rang someones doorbell and left him on the front porch and ran away.

I don't know why she says this she truly DOES love her brother and is so good with him. It kind of reminds me of the time when Taylin was a baby and screamed ALL DAY and Hailey asked if we could take Taylin back to the hospital. It must be an older sibling thing.
